Tips for Sleeping in the Heat
There are a few ingenious ways in which you can try to cool off and get some sleep.
- Put on some damp socks. This may not sound all that appealing, but it really works. If you can cool off your feet by soaking socks in cold water, wringing them out and putting them on, then you can cool off your entire body. Damp t-shirts can work too.
- Frozen sheets. You may think this sounds extreme, but desperate times call for desperate measures. If you take your sheet and pillow cases, get them wet and then put them in a bag in the freezer it can be a great way to beat the heat.
- Cuddle with cold packs. Cold packs may not be your go-to cuddling companion, but if it’s hot out and you’re trying to sleep then you can place a few in pillowcases and then put them near your head or your feet to stay cool.
- Ice fan. This one can cool off the whole room! Take a bag of ice and put it in a shallow pan, then place it in front of your fan. It will distribute the cold air throughout your whole room.
